I got pregnant around our anniversary/Thanksgiving of 2010. We found out (by a tiny, very faint, pink line) on/around Dec. 4th (because by now, I know EXACTLY how long it takes for those hormones to show up on a test. I'd taken more of those things than I could ever count!) So began the healthy eating, no drinking, no caffine, multiple vitamins and supplements, baby asprin, folic acid, B12, Metformin & Prometrium.
All was well for the first 7ish weeks. By week 8, I was sicker than a dog. It was a total surprise to me! None of my sisters got sick while they were pregnant, why would I!? But seriously, I barely left the couch for the first 3 1/2 months.
Chad is a great husband and took wonderful care of me. He made me food, made sure I got sleep and probably felt my pain everytime I had to run to the bathroom. My parents and family were awesome too! Mom always brought us food (since I wasn't really cooking for Chad because everything in the kitchen sounded and smelled disgusting!), dad always came up to check my blood sugar (which was always low), Tahnee always answered all of my stupid questions, Kaysha came to take my blood pressure (which was always really low as well). Needless to say, I had the BEST support team anyone could ask for.
I had to take it easy for the first little while because I had placenta previa (diagnosed via ultrasound at 8 weeks). Not very hard to do since I was so sick. After about week 16 I started to feel pretty normal again. Which was great! I started working part time. Which was a big help on my stress level.
I swore I was going to be that person who took a picture every week or month to document my growth and fill out a journal so I would remember every bit of my pregnancy. Well, that didn't really happen. I took pictures when I remembered or noticed I had gotten GIANT over night. I filled out my pregnancy journal when I saw it sitting on my nightstand and thought "hmm, it's been awhile, I probably ought to jot something down."
I had a pretty easy pregnancy (except for the morning sickness). I LOVED it. I rented a doppler heartbeat monitor online and listened to his little heartbeat everyday sometimes twice a day for pretty much the entire pregnancy (seriously, I didn't return it until after he was born.) The time flew by so fast. It seemed like it took forever to get pregnant (well it did), then it took forever to get to 12 weeks (the safe point), but then, the rest of the pregnancy seemed to fly by! Until the last few weeks that is. Everyone was telling me I was small, but from the inside, I felt giant. There was absolutely NO room left in my abdomen! Again, cue- Ryker Sledge Young.
